A wonderful spring evening, the best way to waste your time
is... to take the photo cam and have fun in the center of Rome. And what else would be a good target,
if not the great Roman monument, built several years A.C.(in the year 72, by Vespasian, and found by his son, Tito). You got it, it's the
Colosseum ("Anphitheatrum Flavlum"), where Romans used to enjoy their free time, bringing under the
spotlights many different creatures, wild animals and making gladiators fight
with them. It was a thought life for both gladiator and animal, but such an
entertainment there was for the big ones, as Julius Caesar, Augustus, and the
Roman people. Coming back to our time, after more than 2000 years, you can find
the Colosseum in the middle of a huge square, surrounded by streets full of
traffic at the rush hour, subway lines, and a lot of crowd which wouldn't
disappear not even during the night. A lot of people come and go, either to
visit the monument, or simply to enjoy the spare time in the neighborhood. But
the one who goes there to visit, and doesn't know which is the best place for
an extraordinary complete view of the Colosseum, will suffer a big loss once
he/she would leave Rome, heading home, cause they'd always feel like
something's missing. Let me give you a clue: The Domus Aurea Park. Yup, that's
it! The perfect place where from you can "visit" Colosseum, even if
your not quite next to it. But you can admire its hugeness being surrounded by
nature, trees and birds, Roman constructions and various landscapes. You'll
feel like absorbed by a new dimension, another era, like traveling in time. A
different world, totally! that's how I felt. And why using words to describe
what I saw, when the photos say a lot more than that? :) enjoy!
