Castelul Bran

Bran Castle is in common with same name, 30 km away Brasov On the road in the neighborhood Bartholomew, to Campulung Muscel. The castle was built between 1377-1382, at the request of the Hungarian King Louis I of Anjou, to create a strategic point between Transylvania and Wallachia.

In this museum are exhibited collections of pottery, furniture, weapons and armor, and the castle courtyard is a small museum of the village with traditional houses in the region Rucar-Bran.

Bran Castle was claimed by Archduke Dominic von Habsburg and his sisters, Maria Magdalena Holzhausen and Elisabeth Sandhofer. As a result, the Ministry of Culture ordered the relocation of collections belonging to the Romanian state, the medieval customs. To reopen the museum, the family of Habsburg castle refurbished with objects of personal collection, making it officially reopened on June 1, 2009.
